24 Hours in Columbia, TN: A Day in Our Favorite Small Town
We may live and work all across Middle Tennessee, but Columbia holds a special place in our hearts. Whether you're visiting for the day, considering a move, or already lucky enough to call it home, here’s how we’d spend the perfect 24 hours in Columbia - packed with local charm, great food, and a touch of small-town magic.
Morning: Coffee + Stroll Downtown
Start your day slow with a stop at Muletown Coffee Roasters on the square or Bradley Mountain in the Arts District. Both offer delicious coffee and totally different vibes - Muletown is cozy and classic, while Bradley Mountain has a creative atmosphere we love.
Grab a latte, stroll with your cup in hand, and take in the charm of Columbia as the day begins. If you're near downtown, enjoy the courthouse view. If you're in the Arts District, take a stroll around Row & Co. to see what’s new!
After coffee, wander through downtown Columbia. Stop by Needle & Grain for unique gifts and home goods, or Columbia Health Foods for a smoothie and wellness finds.
Late Morning: Brunch
Head to Puckett’s for a hearty Southern brunch (the skillet cinnamon rolls are always a hit). If you're in the mood for something more elevated and bright, Buck & Board has amazing brunch options and charcuterie boards with a cozy-meets-modern atmosphere.
Lunch: A Local Favorite
Ready for round two? Grab lunch at Gold’s Deli, one of Columbia’s best-kept secrets. Their menu is full of bold flavor, with stacked sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and personality to match. Whether you go for the classic Reuben or something creative (we recommend the Gold’s Special), you can’t go wrong here. It’s quick, satisfying, and full of local charm.
Afternoon: Get Outside or Get Inspired
Drive over to Maury County Park or walk the trails at Riverwalk Park along the Duck River - it’s a peaceful place to clear your head, catch-up with a friend or walk the dog.
If you’re looking to stay indoors, spend some time at Bleu 32 Vintage Marketplace. Bleu 32 is full of curated vintage finds, furniture, books, and handmade goods. There’s something new every time you visit.
Evening: Dinner & Small Town Charm
For dinner, don’t miss Mama Mila’s. This is definitely one of our favorite spots in Middle Tennessee. Their stuffed rigatoni is absolutely unforgettable - creamy, comforting, and full of flavor. The Fat Tony is also another must try. Give me a gallon of that crack sauce!
The ambiance is inviting and warm, making it perfect for a date night or special treat to wrap up the day.
